911 EMERGENCY BUILDING (Oklahoma)

Coreslab Structures (OKLA) Inc. received a "Best of the Best in Oklahoma" award from the AGC of Oklahoma. This award was presented to Coreslab for the architectural precast and the precast pre-stressed concrete on the new "911" emergency building in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

This structure houses the emergency equipment essential to facilitate communication in the event of a disaster in the Tulsa area.

In order to shield the equipment from an F5 Tornado, the structure required 8" precast concrete walls, with the main hall using 52"deep x 6 foot wide Double Tees spanning 72 feet and supported on poured in place concrete walls. The result of this is the appearance of a barrel vault roof.
